MAPPING: Texturing

Postby SteveMcqueen » 04.03.09

before you do anything, you do this:

press "i" to select all brushes, and then use the caulk texture first... everything with the caulk texture on it will not be rendered. so you will have better fps on your map and you will not forget to caulk anything after your general texturing is done.

then texture everything you need as you like.

CAULK
eveything that should not be rendered (everything you cant see)
PLAYER CLIP
player cannot move on
BOT CLIP
bot cannot move on
FULL CLIP
nothing can move on

when texturing just select one side of a brush... you do this via CTRL+SHIFT+MOUSE1

misaligned textures:
set them right via the surface inspector (press s)
for patch mesh textures you need the patch surface inspector (SHIFT+s)
