yes, the way we match the ingame player with forums user is the IP.
u had connected in the game and in forums from the same IP, so the machine matched u.

if its wrong: go to stats, pick out ur player and tell me.
btw: the machine will match u to another user automaticall if u connect to forums and gameserver with the same IP again...

This mean that if I connect this evening with correct ingameName and then login here, the next stats will be properly assigned. Or is better login here
and then connect to server?

Two question:

1) are the previous stats resetted (and lost) because of new ingameName?
(I think they are cumulative, aren't?)
2) how much time in the past are logs read in order to compute the stats of today?

OK. Now all is UNclear especially the "reinstall".
But you don't explain the interesting part,
but an algoritm should explain all:

- a=ip(connect to wurst and play)
- b=ip(connect to forum AND login ) # not necessary login? I hope YES
- if a=b then
--- if ingameName.saved != ingameName then
------ ....
------ ....

Are you able to complete the algorithm describing
what happens to stats, if resetted or whatelse if
the "new" ingameName exists already in stats?
(for example I have some stats older than 80 days
with my right ingameName just_for_Fun)

I think this could be an interesting point in FAQ.

The game statistics are managed by xlr stats, we match ip based, so if two people are playing behind a nat router it doesn't work too well. Defining a linear algorithm won't work (or at least I don't know how to describe it in a line like you wanted), it's two different databases with totally different information, every five minutes or so a script is running and comparing the last used IPs from the game and the forums, if it finds a match it will write the forum and the game id into a different table which we use to show the stats here and move you around in mumble. If you visit the forums first or play the game shouldn't matter at all, but you will have to be logged on in the forums.

Hallo Leute mal wieder das selbe Problem, folgende nicks wurden in den stats meinem Bruder Itto Ogami oder niemandem zugeteilt, ich weiss ich hatte n bisschen zu viele nicks, hoffe ihr könnt mir trotzdem helfen, werd auch bei diesem nick, bleiben
