Venustransit 06.06.2012

hey there,

on the 06th of June a venustransit is taking place (its like a solar eclipse, but with the venus pushing forward the sun instead of the moon). Only approximatly every 3rd generation of human are able to see this phenomen. (next one will take place in 2117 ;>)
On the 6th of June at about 00:09 MESZ the Venus is touching the outermost part of the sun, but as the sun rises over here it has the most of its way already done. (In Vienna the run rises about 04:55 so we are able to watch the last two hours)

so for everyone who is a little bit interrested in astronomy or natural spectacle: it's worth standing up that early :p
