mmmh... i feel a need to post here.

@Mungaga: there are couple of things. first is i see no reason for you to write in both french and english. most of us dont speak french, so its just double work. not to mention it shows the puritan nature of the french people (no offense here, its just a mere fact). if an admin asks you to speak so he understands, you should comply. he IS the admin. the server rules are clear: dont insult the staff. that doesnt lead to anything good. this whole thread is just your try to undermine humppalaki's position as admin which, im afraid, fails. yes youre just a random player who decided to be cocky on a server where humppa is admin. too bad for you. but you are also just one person. yes i agree that every player counts, but your attitude and your first post just reflect a negative stance to this whole thing. for you, im afraid, there is no coming back. farewell.

@all: rules for players are here to obey. those who are unable to obey them have a problem. and they will be removed. cant make it more simple than that.

Unfortunately things seem to have gotten out of control. You were indeed overreacting about the "don't speak french" order by an admin. We wish to play, contrary to common belief we are not only moderating the server. That is only an extra task. We have the server because we enjoy playing the game. Thus we try to spend as much time as necessary and as little as possible to moderate the server. This means, we may sometimes (if we are confronted with lots of idiots) write things in short, that may sound rude. Sometimes this is only because we keep sentences short to focus on playing, sometimes it is because of a lack of language skills. Most of us are not native English speakers, so these kinds of mistakes just happen.

The only thing he wanted you to do, was, to express your complaints and criticizm in English, so that an admin (the only one that can do something about these issues) can understand you. Jumping onto that sentence instead of just expressing your complaints in English, was the mistake that got everything rolling. Usually insults already lead to a ban. You were lucky to just get muted. But doing TK purposely is something that will certainly earn a kick or a ban.

I do understand your position though. But you need to keep in mind that we don't do our admin duties for money, nor is it a full-time job for us. It is just a duty we do because we care for the gaming experience and quality of games on our servers, we do it just because we want to. But also our main focus is on playing and enjoying ourselves.

All we ask for that, is a bit of respect and to cooperate, whenever an admin tells you to do something. We do not have time for endless discussions about etiquette or rephrasing our sentences until all users are satisfied in a diplomatic way. TKers, WHers and other cheaters or idiots keep us from playing and enjoying the game. So we get rid of them as fast as possible. If you wish to help or wish an admin to improve the situation, just mention everything in English. Most admins will pick up to that request very quickly (if present) and help to improve the gameplay.

PS: I also agree, every player counts. I cannot approve of "you're just one, we have plenty other players". Especially since the fact that you came here to complain about that issue means that you wish to play on the server and enjoy the game.

L'élément déclencheur est en fait le fait qu'il m'ait interdit de parler français. S'il m'avait demandé de parler dans une langue que tout le monde comprend (ç-à-d l'anglais) de manière plus "sympa", je l'aurais, c'est sur, fait. Et tout cela ne serait pas arrivé.
Maintenant, oui je pense que ce sujet ne sert plus à rien, je suis juste venu me plaindre et on m'a écouté, cela me suffit.

The triggering factor is when he clearly forbad me to speak french. If he would have asked me to speak in a language that everybody understand (i.e english) in a "nicer" way, I would have do it, definitely. And all that wouldn't have happenned.
Now, yes i think this thread isn't useful anymore, i came to complain and I have been heard, that suffices to me.
