hey guys, recently i was missing in the game.
Actually im testing new Hardware, to be more precise: SSD as a Datafile Backend for M$ Sql Serwer.

Heres some first Results, the Servers came today.
As you can see the 64KB sized Test Data allready overload the Controller Interface.
Now i will go on testing with more of them, now i have 100.000 IOPS, my target is pushing the Value over 250K.
A high speed HDD (15K SAS 6GB) can do a bit more then 200.

More Tests will follow in a separate Form, i will specially concentrate on SQL Server Performance.

hm, i got a bit further.

The P812 is the biggest HP controller.
Its described as having 4GB/sec interface Speed and 5GB/sec internal Bandwidth.

On page 3 u find this:

Its prooved that this is not true, theres 1,5GB read and 2GB Write. Maximum IOPS is 100K.
I was allready suspicious when i tested it with 6 SSD, now with 20 of them i have the same results.
Im collecting my prooves now, then i go to HP.
Maybe the "Protocol Overhead" is 3,5 GB/sec, who knows

That Piece of crap is btw 1400 Euro.
Did u know btw that HP runns a legal cartel in eastern Europe?
Hah, but thats another sad story.
DONT BUY HP! They kinda RL_Hax.
The only innovation that HP ever did was inventing expensive ink cardiges.
