Gamer can change any component of PC, right?

So we just take serial of mb (it's really thing people rarely change) and that would surely reduce number of cheaters to few. I isn't hard to band 3 aimboters per weak. So we would get situation where we have more admins then cheaters. Then we won't have more trouble.

I've had a lot of these talks in my Sauerbraten days, which is a really good Open Source shooter with its own engine (for those who don't know it). Simple conclusion: Can't be done automatically by some hardware-id or -hashing. Only thing that would be proof is a login system with the need to get an account on some server.

Problem with hashing and stuff is that it can be faked, and since most of the cheaters simply use a cheat app when this app can fake the hashing, these cheaters would again be able to bypass it.

It's true, there's no way to stop cheaters, but there is way to reduce their's number. I think we should make few steps to reduce their number. And i am sure that sudden change of anti-cheat protection would give us some time until cheaters don't break it.

this morming, i wanted to play but i found another cheater....

So you always talk about more admins, who are the admins on the servers ?

Can i be one of them ?

I don't need all power on the server but just to ban the cheaters.
I often play in this server with my friend Svarox and almost every time there is no admin, we found a cheater.

Another point i would like to discuss is about the vote for the next map.
At the moment we can vote : map_algier for example or g_next_map_algier
The vote map_algier really sucks, so could you desactivate this kind of vote ?

I'd also vote to disable map-votes and only allow nextmap. As for making Bigmat and/or Svarox Admins, I'd be fine with that, they're on often when no one of the rest of us is online.

Hmmm, seems the server was restarted and my config wasn't saved I restored it just now.
The most crucial ones are the following:
fraglimit=250
timelimit=12
g_allowvote=536870920

That disables map votes and just allows for nextmap and cyclemap votes.
I'm not sure but maybe we should enable kick votes as well, although that might be mis-used at times.
