DB Serwer Reinstall

Maybe some of u got it that some is wrong:
Forums down, Mumble rejecting Users and last but not least: B3 dont work.
Blinky and me reinstalled the db serwer last Night.
Background was an outdated distro and super-strange behavin Network interfaces.

All in all a frustrating issue, specially when it came out that ubuntu 9.10
1.) dont run with vmware server
2.) dont run with our graphics card
however, after lots of google (and some hours trying to set Mysql in clean state again) everything is back as it was.
If someone is missing some that was there before: plz give us a hint!

Offtopic : did you make a backup of the mumble server ? So I can play with it a bit...

Yep, Ubuntu 9.10 sucks big time , it was the reason why Aimme forfeited it and switched to Debian , and I don't plan on even trying it. I'll most likely switch to Gentoo during the winter break.

that's because I'm updating to 1.2.0, did work at my local pc ... but ofc has problems in the live environment -.-

ye, the database server is a very easy install.
just 3 programs needed:


-mysql
-vmware srv
-teh cron

but: nothing can run without it (exept maybe the gameserver)
and when you are remote and your kvm over IP card is not supported by the os from cd:
goodnight.
sure theres still possibilities (network boot from lan or loading some floppy iso in the kvm card) but everything is just half the funny and takes tripple the time.
