ctf is not my preferred style of play for several reasons.
- the learning curve is uber steep, if you really wanna do good. leaving you with less time for the rest like tdm or bomb.
- it is respawn-based and not round-based. this makes it extremely frantic to play. i am too old for this crap. =P
- bomb and ts are a more alike, players can change between both modes easily, and so there will be no split that separates dswp into two classes like "bombers" and "flaggers"
capturing flags can be very much fun some times (i know that first hand), but i VERY STRONGLY oppose the idea of going for a fixed dswp ctf train because of the aforementioned reasons.
it is just as addictive as any other particular mode. and exactly that is the problem.
having two different squads is like having two clans within one. that kills the nice spirit we currently have, and brings some competition that brings the "clan" in a 'worse' direction.
you may not believe this, but that is the most likely outcome. i have seen it happen several times in my clan history.
@aimme
CTF is rush-rush-rush
TDM is either camp-camp-camp or rush-camp-rush-camp-rush
BM is playing/rushing and becomes hectic once the bomb was planted, or if the remaining terrorists are circled. and it has points in the map you WILL meet each other at. because red HAS to get to the sites and plant the bomb, or kill whole blue to win.
TS is similar to how i described bomb. either rush right away after spawning, or play cool and then suddenly rush together, that is the key. ts has a lot of grenade play, at least in europe, not so much in america.
if you say ts has no rushing you have never played against good people. with good people you are constantly on the edge because you never know where the enemy will show up. ts is more tactical, as you usually have little more time to plan your actions in advance. time is usually not a problem, not like havinging only 1.30 roundtime, also sound is MUCH more important than in bomb.
@natirips
i think last-man-standing will be included in the next urban terror version.
