Always thought the current shotgun we have is very underpowered, but this new one looks like a serious bit of kit.

next version will be a big update, but there will not be any need to redownload the whole package.
from my point of view this means in other words, the current maps that came shipped with urban terror will stay pretty much the same.

I just hope people with low end PC's can still run the newly updated game to a decent standard, my PC struggles with the current version at times, I'm sure there's many others too.

My comp. should be fine, it runs the current version just fine. I often get fps way above 40.

Acctually, it usually between 40 and 60, but sometimes it drops way below, and when that happens, I lose sound and can't exit normally, must use
$ps -e
$kill -9 <<pid>>

I still don't understand why. I play on rather low details, lock my CPU speed to 1600Mhz, it's dual core 64-bit. Graphics is GeForce 8400M G 128MB. I've got 2GB of RAM. That should be enough. OpenArena (also ioQuake3) runs fine on max details though.

Well i have 125-126 fps,but yesterday it dropped to 55 (not only to me, most people on server) so i think my PC is good enough.

64 Bit Quadcore at 2.67 GHz, 9800GT with 512 MB, 4GB of RAM, still occasionally getting FPS lower than 125.
It IS horrible netcode On servers with 20 or just 16 players I don't get any FPS drops.
Besides of that: I can play Quake 3 with all details to max in 1024x600 on my EeePC with 40 to 60 FPS, but UrT only with 5 FPS even with lowest details

Currently there is no way to play UrT on a 32slot tdm server without getting frame drops.
If your computer stucks on Linux, try pressing alt+crtl+F1-6 (should open different full screen terminals) and pkill -9 urban terror (or maybe some capital letters, just a part of the name from ps should work).
I got a 3GHz Intel Core 2 Quad, a BFG 9800 GX2 1G GDDR3, 4G RAM, and my OS is using up like no resources at all (Gentoo Linux, Fluxbox WM, no big apps or stuff running)! You can sometimes hear me cry on mumble ...
