Yay .005, no MD5 sums yet published, the updater too goddamned stupid to overwrite (OVERWRITE, can you imagine that) the PK3s it should to… so yeah, fun times. I’m re-downloading everything starting with zUrT42_0008.pk3 right now.

The Fail is strong with the frozen ones.

EDIT: 121 MB later I can tell it was caused by broken zUrT42_0012.pk3. Quoth BladeKiller: “Sorry everyone. We just discovered that the updater is broken and is not overwriting the paks it is supposed to.”

BTW, animations were rolled back to .002 (monkey jumps and low-held guns, but no broken backs), and skins were further updated with camo in both teams — effectively, they’re going back to 3.x urban skins in higher quality.

Hahaha, this "updater"... I can't launch it cause it needs a Qt lib that I don't have and can't install atm. That's the reason I haven't tried 4.2 yet, no way to download a f...ing zip file without using that huge piece of crap.
Seriously, I can't believe someone in 2012 has FAILED to code a program simply downloading and copying files. Must be a pretty biiig big coder newbie... I bet on an unexperienced kid

One Barbatos, I hear. You know, I’ve been semi-seriously considering hacking together something (an urtfetcher?) that would work better than the updater… say, a Firefox addon:-P There’s no way I could do this on my own though.

test server 85.170.203.0:27960 (offline right now) — although I wasn’t actually playing, we were on Dressingroom and I disconnected right after noticing missing textures in the mirror and complaining about them.

4.2.006 released, all previously posted direct links broken (fuckssakes I say, lrn2internet), I’m once again re-updating suspect PK3s to get rid of client/server mismatch, stay tuned.

EDIT: re-downloading zUrT42_0011.pk3 and zUrT42_0012.pk3 (files that had the same MD5 as in .005 despite being freshly overwritten) changed nothing; however, turns out the mismatch error only happens on a few jump servers (yeah, there’s jump mode now), other servers in all modes seem fine. Nonetheless, when I’m authed, the game still complains about being outdated… and I can’t start local server in jump mode…

Anyone reading this who can work WireShark* or similar? Would be nice to know where the hell is the updater downloading the PK3s from this time — http://cdn.urbanterror.info/urt/42/00006/zUrT42_qvm.pk3 doesn’t work, even the previous version’s /00005/* URLs are gone; the full ZIP can be downloaded at http://cdn.urbanterror.info/urt/42/zips/UrbanTerror42_full_006.zip, but trying the reasonable substitutes (/006/, /pk3s/, /pk3/, /packs/, /paks/, /current/, /content/, /data/, /gamedata/, the very same /zips/) for single PK3s still gives nothing.

* No idea if I could do this myself; I have USB modem which is unsupported on all OSes.
