There’s a tumblr collecting silly screenshots of Apple Maps that has replaced Google Maps in the new iOS6. Most of this stuff is pretty tame — unbelievably sparse data about large city centers, restaurants in rivers, gas stations on top of skyscrapers —, but where Apple Maps shines is the 3D view. Mapping inaccurate data and often low-quality and/or mismatched satellite/aerial photos onto terrain mostly generated from sparse height measurements produces some truly spectacular scenes that would make Dalí weep.
