you can safely install it on your client, I won't suggest installing it on the server tho since we would have to kick a few maps out or people will get some strange results when playing (running against invisible walls etc when using 4.1 on some maps)
maybe we can put up an extra server for the new maps and spam it a bit with b3 so we can migrate the test serwer in a month or so.

I hear some of the custom maps interfere with some of the updated maps; my Docks is fine, but Ramelle seems to be broken for most people. The official solution is to delete all third-party stuff.
Striker, custom maps sometimes have modified shaders that interfere with our shaders. This has always been an issue and the only solution has been to remove the offending maps. I have no idea which, if any, custom maps have shaders referencing our textures that cause problems. The new zpak001_assets.pk3 will overwrite the older zpak000_assets.pk3. Third party maps tend to name their shaders differently from ours but use the same textures as us and that can cause problems. Most of the mappers have learned to get around this by moving our textures into a different folder when they want to write a different shader for them. If a third party map was ok in 4.1 it should be ok with this update. [Bladekiller]
