I.e. in the in-game chat use:.

Go to spectators first if you don't want them to hear. Unfortunately into console doesn't work. B3 reads log, it's not a player, and private messages don't get logged it seems.

To call admins, I do

When I come to think about it, you're right felix: actually I cannot /tell b3 because there is no such player, not because PMs are not being logged.

Although joining the spectators may be the easiest thing to do sometimes.

You're dead, you can read them. Dead players and spectators actually type in same chat sometimes (depends on server config).
