Nickname: J._Random_Noob (if you google it, there’s like 10 hits at the moment, all used in generic manner). I actually feel as if I’m hijacking a sacred piece of academic hacker culture, but as this culture is nearly dead by now, it’s not that big of a problem. And, of course, no fear of retaliation from those hackers:-)
My age: 25
Country I live in: Estonia (I like to append “the genuine Earthrealm” to it, as the pseudo-archaic name for this country, Maavald, literally translates to this)
Hobbies/interests: I’m quite a talented artist (drawing) who unfortunately practices way too little. So in fact I suck at it. Lots of things related to computers; I’ve got no intrinsic interest in lengthening my dick or learning the ropes of esoteric software; on the other hand, I’m not afraid of attacking my system with either a text editor or a screwdriver. I know what I’m doing, and if I don’t, I don’t. Reading science fiction. Just a J. Random Nerd, really.

Favorite game(s): There are only a few dozen games I’ve played, but generally I like car racing and first person shooting, all in a somewhat realistic style (UrT kind of realistic is fine for me). I can’t grok strategies, neither real-time nor turn-based; the closest thing to this I’ve liked was the UFO: Enemy Unknown/X-COM style of turn-based tactics mixed with real-time base management.
Favorite band(s): Listing bands would be pointless; quite large amount of what I like can be described with a combination of any of the words dance, punk, and folk. Some metal styles (“epic” and “metal” are pretty much synonymous for me; what’s the point of playing metal if it doesn’t sound über-cool?). There’s some truth to the notion that most people are the most fascinated with stuff from around their year of birth; I have a soft spot for eighties and early nineties dance music (2 Unlimited “No Limit”, from 1993, playing at the moment:-)). Discovering d’n’b and similar stuff right now, thanks to HumppaLakki’s post in the fav music thread. Hmm, perhaps I still should pimp some Estonian bands: Metsatöll is folk metal (started out as poor man’s Manowar), J.M.K.E. is punk with ironical philosophical bent, if I may say so.
Favorite movie(s): Jaysus. I do not go to movies and rarely watch TV now (and pretty much never for movies), so the only thing from the top of my head would be The Matrix (there are no sequels). Classic Star Wars trilogy has a great atmosphere that cancels out all of its shortcomings (no prequels in this case). Anyway, I do not consider movies to be taken seriously, real art is written:-)
Favorite anime movie(s)/cartoon(s): Not attracted to monsters and dicks:-PPP From Western production, Family Guy. The crazy non-sequitur humor, if you ignore the political stuff, can really get me in stitches. Obviously I don’t like serious animation; this only amplifies the general problem I have with visual entertainment: usually I feel toe-curlingly embarassed watching people to pretend being someone else. Very few productions manage to avoid this; generally these come from science fiction, obviously, thanks to the heavy reliance on sense of wonder. (This is not to say that most SF movies aren’t utter manure.)
Favorite TV channel(s): Well… I basically quit watching TV after my provider cut Discovery Science and Discovery World from the package. It’s not that bad as it might sound, I have had more free time since then:-)
Life dream: I’m not ambitious, I just want everybody in the world to admire me and leave me the hell alone.
What I like: Likable stuff.
What I don’t like: Unlikable stuff.

My favorite gear: This has changed considerably in the short timeframe I’ve been UrTing. Starting with the usual n00b G36 and full armor, I’ve migrated onto LR300 after seeing the proper way of using it. Have dropped vest and helmet in favor of grenades and suppressor - lovely thing, I must say. Allows you to shoot people without them realizing where the fire comes from, so my lousy skills aren’t put to too hard a test. Hereby I thank PILS, following whom taught me a lot about the playing style I’m best suited for. PSG-1 for sniping combined with UMP-45 to cover my ass; I can’t shoot well enough yet to get any use out of SR-8. Desert Eagle as the sidearm (I actually prefer pistol to SMG in close quarters, somehow I’m more accurate with it). I’ve carried the medkit from day one, it feels as the only true thing to do.
My UrT history: First time I saw the game at my brother’s place in 2006; played about half an hour and was really impressed; this was the game I was waiting for. The semi-tactical style and small hardware requirements were totally sweet. Mind you, it’s not like I’ve played all that many shooters… But my old laptop at the time couldn’t run it - and I didn’t have net connection anyway. The best analog I could come up with was CS 1.5 with bots, which sucked hard. So, yes, I’ve only played it for about two weeks this far. Most of this time avoiding shooting Wursti:-)

urt history: Playing sice 10 April 2009. playing pistol and nades only for a long time, and also full weapons.Started to play TDM (which i suppost to dont like) and im not happy about it.
