yup, a lot is. It's just current style I guess. But there's also a lot of daring desings. Sadly most architecture gets simpler and simpler from initial plans to definite plans due to cost limitations; design is always gonna lose from budget/ money
this was one of the plans for our new train station:
this is how it's gonna look like now, due to budget restraints:
still very nice, but you get the idea. That's why I decide I didnt wanne become an architect, way to frustrating!
we do have the biggest projects in Europe in Rotterdam
this building is called 'The Rotterdam' and is the largest construction project with 160000 square meters
it's a city on it's on with pools, stores, cinema, offices, everything. The municipality of Rotterdam has signed an agreement to rent 40000 square meters (a quarter of the available space) so it will be my new working spot in 2013, overlooking the city
proposed designs in Rotterdam:
the advantage is the Germans (and the English and Australians defending Rotterdam from the Germans) bombarded the shit out of our city center, so we had the opportunity to start all over again, as opposed to Amsterdam. Rotterdam is pretty much like Berlin in a sense
this one is being designed by German architects, right next to the building I did the license for this week:
I think you like it wurst?
