Mine was about 2 years. Btw it is the second tree that has fruits and after this you need to cut the old tree to open the way to a new one. I have this tree just for fun... the taste of bananas from the supermarket are a lot better.

I believe that in a more apropriate place these trees could grow faster. During the winter the tree almost stop growing but at least it don't get destroyed by the frost.
