I don't know about system failure, but every time I see dmmh and smeagol with knife in hand I tend to get a heart failure.

I rarely see either of them... specially smeagol :O I've seen some videos of smeagol, and once on zombie server, he seems to be really good, but i'd love to see him in a regular server and understand how the hell he makes 60 kills on some maps....

key of his skill is movement imo
hes barely standing, always FLYING through the map. its often hard to hit him, or he is suddenly standing in front of you and slicing your throat
ill take a look if i got some demos of him tomorrow, so you can see him in action and learn

I've seen him few times. Yes, as rylius said, all knifers have only good movement, maybe timing and experience. I've often saw gollumz, smeagol, dmmh, svarox (wtf he passed me???) and even myself. Thing is most people are scared of knifers. Once they are in range they have no chance.
They panic and it's really easy to kill them. About movement, knifers know where they will find people and knows when they should attack.

BTW: i forgot Slicey!!!!!! I'd dare to say he's best of us all. He is person FLYING all over place. I know how to jump, on uptown best. I know where is every corner of map, every ledge i can catch. But he, he is.... something. Not human. He can jump on places you wouldn't even imagine to jump.

And that's where every knifer comes out. From back, using passages rarely known, striking fast and quiet. You see them when you die and your camera goes back

Fear them, since it's all you can do!

I'm surprised too

In fact there are different kind of knifers : jumpers like Slicey or Smeagol, people who mostly wait behind doors and slice in crowded areas like dmmh (no offense man !), casual knifers like me (and AimMe ?) who slice when a good situations turns up...
If the jumpers slice a lot it's also because they reach the opponents in no time, so they have a lot of attempts. I think they are able to do that in less than 10 seconds on almost every map, so if you kill only 1 guy every 10s that gives 60 knife kills in 10 minutes =)
I've never recorded Smeagol in slicing sessions, only Slicey. Valakas if you want to have an idea about how to use the knife while jumping, take a look at Slicey's demos we posted. Enjoy

Actually when i'm out of ammo
But you (and i) used to have knifing maps Fun but makes you tired. I can remember times when svarox, dmmh and me knifed all time we played, bigtext showing every 30 sec, especially on swim. That were the times

EDIT: now i'll switch knife back to slashing mode.
