I'm just saying as it is. All mouse buttons remain changed no matter what i do. I have to restore to defaults each time and then replace the new config file with the old one.

Just out of curiosity, on what OS do you have those problems?

EITHER

try making it not write protected, run urt

exec the cfg's you want

write protect it again

OR

maybe you included the ts.cfg as a line into your autoexec.cfg?

------

one of these two MUST be the answer, if the reason is not blackmagic from outer space...

I'll give that first thing a try. Autoexec is empty i had the original config file in it but i removed it so everything is on default.
@Natiripis: I'm using win XP sp3.

Maybe you need to be Administrator? ;)

You either have a virus, your file is shared via network and another computer has a virus/is hacking you, the file could be read-only, it might have a wrong filename, you might be putting it in a wrong place (check those Application Data, My Games, etc. folders) or the problem is beyond me.

hi! i find this useful, tnx. but is there a command to undo /exec command? now i have to quit urt and copy paste backedup q3ut4 folder (which is not hard), but i was just wondering if there is a simpler way to do it ingame. cheers

if you have put it in a seperate config doing

/exec q3config
/exec autoexec

should restore everything to your usual settings

Maybe
Code:
/exec backed-up-q3config
would be a safer line, just in case you accidentally overwrote your q3config with the demo cfg.

I.e.: I personally use natirips.cfg for usual play, and anon.cfg to remove my funstuff, name and custom color. I change "modes" using /exec. And it gets saved when I quit so I don't have to /exec it every time as I often play a round, then quit to do some work, then play a round, then quit for some more work, then play a round......

P.S.: natirips.cfg and anon.cfg are both basically a complete copy of q3config.cfg.
