yes win7 , but when i reload the game its not there: presumably related to the fact that the game wont download maps: cant write new files to disk or something similar - if i run it as administrator it will save the demo, but when launched from urt server browser it doesnt.

prolong the ban even without a demo:

"mostafa" (B3 ID: 383264) alias "mr-x" from Algiers seems to be the
same as this guy:

nice one pirat thanks; yes i spotted mr-x and was going to tb him, but he quit before i specced him.

it seems that if i launch the game as a child process from the server browser it doesnt get a valid file handle when it tries to write new files to disk but it doesnt trap the error, it just fails to save the file. i only use the external server browser because the in-game server browser frequently doesnt find any servers.

Hmmmm ... interesting. Do you have the right
master server in your config?



I remember that the master server changed about
a year ago (from .net to .info, IIRC), maybe the old
server still delivers data, but unreliably.

at least ive worked out why i wasnt saving to disk - i had set the Server Browser to launch in my AV sandbox, so the child processes it spawns are also run in a sandbox - hence no access to the hard drive. simples !

having used it for a year i am happy it doesnt need to be sandboxed so ive now set it to run normally and can get my demos again.


pirat i tried that master server : but its no better than before ( 973 servers of which 7 populated ) whereas my server browser finds 173 populated URT servers.
