Problem is that admins are lazy. We want to make command that everybody can use (not only mods or admins), and that command will give admins information so we can ban player easier.

Oh we just hijacked this thread, an idea didn't work out as it should (the !id command) so we think about a better way to identify cheaters.
Sadly, finding cheaters by name doesn't always work.

We are very happy that there are active players that care, thanks for all the demos posted and all the demos to come!

But we are limited by this machine, and it is on behalf of every one playing yet especially the guys reporting that we are able to get rid of the perpetrators asap, and don't have to play roulette who we ban. The best we could come up with was the !id command but the flaw in our idea became very obvious in this thread.

This pissing noob post demos no matter why.Its the work of Mods And Admins, so why he does this.My reason was to give u an Evidence to see how Nerds pissing on the Game.

You are getting it wrong. You done well. You done what you were supposed to do, and no one blames you for that. We are simply thinking about a way to workaround the !id command not being useable by normal users. This demo case (the cheater at the begining of the topic) is closed (I think).

It just came by accident that we kept on using the already existing thread for an offtopic conversation.

We are simply talking about methods of banning cheaters; not related to the cheater that you posted. Rest assured Schlimmpanse that no one blames you for anything, and no one thinks bad of you.

@dmmh: Ever seen stats of someone who had something like this written there:

(Mr Face is a friend of mine, not a cheater so don't ban him ; I only used this as an example)

You can still ban unregistered people.

Yeah, you didn't do anything bad. You've done great job and helped us to keep server clean. Cheater you posted was banned, but dswp people often go offtopic. This disscussion was about something we want to do to make server better, nothing about your recording. Just keep recording and we'll keep banning. Your help is noticed.

Thing with !id is something you probably don't understand, so let me explain a bit.
When admin (and/or mod?) writes !id, b3 replies with saying something like:
"Laziness GUID is 87B7**0F58**4841**DD47**CF85**E7 and IP is 89.***.***.37"

If we could make command that would give you ability to give us this information, it would be easier to ban cheaters. Why? Because if you catched cheater, and that cheater changed name after this demo, we can not find him by name in our banning tool. We can search alias and then look at last connection and few more things. This means it is possible that we don't know who we must ban, since two players exist who had same alias and were connected at same time. For example there is player A who is clear, called killer. He realised his name is not good, so he renamed to wierdmadman. Now player A is playing, and player B connects with name killer connects. He is cheater and you record him. Now you stop recording and player B renames to thisplayer. They both disconnected, and admins see demo. We know player named killer cheated, but there is on such name in list. Admin searched his alias, but two people came out who both could be that cheater, and we don't know which one is.
Command we want to make would solve this problem, since GUID is special for user.

Maybe i said too much, but had to explain...

No offense dude, we were just thinking about a way to identify people easily. The database contains about 200 000 players, so some name are quite common and make it harder to spot the right guy to ban. Some cheaters also use name changers, maybe you already saw that, their name changing according to the other player's names. Even if there are some protections against that, it's not so easy to be sure of the player we are going to ban.
We will keep you informed when the identification feature is done

What about changing the command: If a mod or admin uses the command, it'll print out the GUID, IP and players ID (new!), if a normal user does it, it will only print the players ID (clientid). What do you think?
