ur ut history, how long are you playing it etc. - Well, I play Urban Terror almost 3 years and I was in the Clans: legends`; -xs-; cT. uhm what else.. 3 years ago a friend told me that it exist a Quake3 Arena Mod. He said, that Game called "Urban Terror" does not require Quake3 Arena anymore. Next day I thought, trying before study.

Maybe you're right! But Suse has a long and old tradition in Germany. And I'm old too!
The main Problem with Suse is, that UrT doesn't work properly.
The mouse is very slow since version 11.2.
Actually I must use Windows XP to play UrT.

hm, many people here use linux to play urt...
dunno wether theres some suse installs, most of them kids have ubuntu (and later debian).
nobody of them complains alot, what belongs to mine expirience with linux and q3:
- use the 32bit version, if ure on a 64bit platform: use linux32
- dont buy ATI graka (maybe something changed with AMD)
- be prepared to fight with 1.) Mouse 2.) Sound

suse use to sew me at work through some unbelievable strange directory structures.
its there cause they kinda give *enterprise support* (which is same much worth as microsoft support...)
and yast got it many times to make my day.
all that lpr printer configuration gone! again! wee!

i know that suse is somehow german influenced, but linux in general is something global.
and what belongs to german software products:
did u ever try to use a siemens mobile phones menu without handbook? --> Nerds.
did u ever consider to buy SAP? --> Capitalists.
why does opel board comps fail for the last 100 years? --> Expirience resistant jerks.

--> So were takling about *greedy nerdish guys that dont learn from their mistakes*
its btw not cause they are german, wealth destroyed their ability to adopt quickly.

i think its all a funny way with that technology in this country.
there was a big advance, maybe 100 years ago. it was mainly caused by the late development, germany didnt have the power to conquer the new world in late mid age.
this made the need to use machines instead of slaves. a great thing from the humanistic pov.
later it turned out, that they were great exchange for soldiers.
firstly killing 55 million people.
and after beeing totally owned: bringing back wealth within 10 years.
(acceleration factor: allied troups took *old* german machines, so they had to build a complete new generation...)
however, now they sit there with all that fancy tools, they get paid very well for 2-3 generations now.

success makes u fat, lazy and greedy. thats what we suffer from this time.

I think the problem belongs to my ATI Graka. In my opinion especially the 3D-Drivers for Linux are not that good as they could/should be.
Anyway their are no problems with OpenSuse. It works very well in general. Other Games like Sauerbraten (with nice music) working very good .

ATI+linux only works with ancient cards because the community already built complete free drivers for them which are inside the kernel. I recently totally messed up an Ubuntu installation because of ATI's proprietary drivers for Radeon x1600.

I remember running compiz+flash on Ubuntu 7.04 (or so) on a Radeon 9200 from a live CD on a computer that didn't have a HDD at the time.

NVIDIA works awesome on linux if you're lucky. Some games (i.e. TES4: Oblivion) run under WINE better than on Windows on the same hardware. >_<

Btw, unless you need "pro support", Debian is better than Suse (I have tried both).
