I use !ban <name> tk for these guys, so they won't be back so soon. But when i'm not at spawn it's different.

i see absolutely no problem with the teamkill/teamdamage timeban. you just HAVE to learn to watch your fire. i know i die also because of someone standing in front of me and blocking the fireline to an enemy... but that is because i fuck up somehow.

point is, you simply have to improve your gameplay and prevent such situations to happen.
its not the ban that is bad, its your teamplay.


you get three warnings until you get kicked, should be enough.
another point of view: kick after two teamkills maybe? so you have even more "pressure" motivation to get better...

or maybe add an extra group for users for those that are really well-known to the admins for medic'ing others that will not be kicked because they are valueable teamplayers? just being a regular player would not do the trick if i am concerned....

I cannot resist but to mention that I've never seen getting 3 warns before kick, usually there's one warning, then kick. Sometimes it's just sudden kick.

And I'll repeat myself: not kicking players so soon it their teamkill/teamdeath ratio is small (just as an idea).

hmm I would prefer the kill/teamkill ratio ...
maybe no warning if ratio >4, 100% dmg if >2, and 200% if below
but to achieve that we would have to extend the b3 capabilities quite a bit

i get kicked, too, if i do several (like 3 or 4) tk's in a map. not by the server bot, but because of urt itself, which is not affected by admin status settings.
i simply cant remember how often i need to teamkill for it..........
because i almost never get kicked. at least i cannot recall the last time it happened.
and yes, i do use nades, and that a lot lately.

if you cant read, its your fault, another reality. i see these warnings often enough. not knowing does not hinder punishment. (you just seem to see the last longer warning just before you get kicked when the bot gives a short time span before the 2+ minute kickban happens.)
not just admins see them, i have seen them with my regular user account, too.
(know that as my admin rights were gone for a while because of a db error.)

if i know someone better i clear his warnings. (how could i know about them if they were not showing?)
but me acting like this does not make them wrong, as those people also get warned for not watching their fire or nades. it does not matter what level you play at. (see first paragraph)
and if you get warnings for saying "shit" or "fuck" or simply spamming... just watch your mouth.
earlier times i have often been kicked for the rest of the day, when the bot punishment was set much much higher... like 7 hours at least.

what are 2 minutes for something you ultimately have caused by your own stupidity anyways?
learn to play & behave... any other argument is just tolerating the "i-dont-give-a-shit"-attitude almost all players on all the other servers have. you get teamkilled (no prob because there are no serverbots, just /reconnect), you dont get healed, covering teammates is simply not happening.

i can recall the skill and teamplay level and its vast difference back then compared to nowadays very very vividly. if i forget, i just have to join ANY other tdm server to be harshly reminded of that.

the good and nice way most people playing on wurst has simply evolved over time, and mostly in response to the punishments.
that is what i know as another fact.

as i have witnessed it from almost the beginning.
maybe now you get the idea why i oppose the idea of making tolerance bar a bit higher. no matter in what way.

no matter how bad i may swear, all other servers are worse, by far.
there you have newbs banning for nonexisting bot/hax, real random admin abuse (not like here, even when i am joking about that at times when i get bitchy comments for admin actions), bad teamplay, bad atmosphere... imagine the rest.
this is my side of the coin.


now on to your idea natirips:
there is no need to teamkill teamkillers because almost at all times there is an admin/moderator present. (if not, who really cares about stats anyway?)
by now, most teamkillers are banned and they only rarely occur anyway.

you just get teamkilled a lot, and your idea only matters if the tk's on you actually happen, if you stand in front of teammates and block their fireline. so you hinder your mates AND are rewarded for doing so by being allowed to make even more teamkills??? (not "just" 3...)
or to allow to teamkill somebody on purpose retaliating for an accidental teamkill on you...........
either way, this is only to compensate for your faults, and this must not be allowed to happen anyway.

if it was to happen wurst were to turn into just another urt tdm server... and there wouldn't be a lot of people telling how stoked they are when playing on dswp_tdm. i have been told this more often than you can imagine. also people coming back (despite the kickbans) speaks for itself, even (or especially?) when they were away for some time.

who is gonna code that tk/td idea anyway?
and uncle's k/tk ratio makes shitloads more sense, i forgot to mention.

that indeed is a good idea.

i seen it too in xlr stats awards (which we dont query anylonger since its eating the compi)
there u see the "player with the most teamkills" but its not devided by kills, the price allways goes to someone that play on the server very often.

in fact we need to rule tk with the bot, it was btw the reason why the bot was installed. the stats and user matching and murmur etc came everything later when we saw how much well sorted (realtime) data the bot produce...

Well, I do no longer kill a teamkiller because I can kick now. But I remember there was this "retard with knife" (or something like that) once that was running around his team's spawnpoint bleeding people around him and noone would kick him so I got pissed off after getting bleeded for x-th time so I shot him and got kicked (b3) for that.

About coding, that's why I said it's just an idea (not a proposal). Just in a case someone get this _urge_ to code :x :? _something_... XD.

And unfortunately :cry: I don't know how it is on other servers, as wts is the only UrT serwer I ever played on. Acctually, it's the only fps server where I ever played any fps other that OpenArena.
