4.2 is obviously somewhat unfinished (JohnnyEnglish checked dates in PK3s and said they were adding stuff right up to the release moment), but since now there’s an updater, everything should be fixed soon. The first thing to fix being the updater itself — its MD5 & file presence checking is unreliable. For many people, including me, the download crashed when downloading the Windows client (file 10 of 15), resulting in 0 kB file and the updater nonetheless deemed the installation complete when attempting to continue. To get rid of this problem, delete the empty file; if this doesn’t help, also delete zUrT42_0009.pk3 (the last and smallest of PK3s). Worked for me and several other people who had the same problem.

I played two rounds after installing the game, and while I can’t tell anything about hits (my aim after being awake for 20+ hours and connection being what they are), the general impression is OK. Animations are rushed; while the monkey jumps are gone, some model elements clip into each other, deaths look decidedly silly, and for example third person M4 reloading animation takes way longer than the first person one. However, as devs said, several times higher animation count should mean it’s more clear what enemies/teammates are doing; I’d say it looks very promising and even with those minor bugs, it should enhance the game experience OMFG I sound like Frankie V do I.

Perhaps the most notable detail on 4.2 was that the game crashed with ioUrT when requesting new server list. The provided engine, Quake3-UrT, has worked flawlessly though — some people have complained about lower FPS, but I had no issues whatsoever.

I was able to download. I just leaved the updater opened for some minutes and suddendly started to download.... :)

After playing a bit, for me it is just the same game with weirdo animations.

Found some rendering issues with fonts on the client...

Server side, everything looks fine.
I mean:

Thats a completely new (and most likely temproarily) error, it will be VERY ok soon!
