It's amazing how hard it can be to tell the difference between the colors red/blue :( Though actually it annoys me more when my team mates don't shoot the enemy than when they shoot me...

Actually I can't tell red and blue apart at all in the middle part of Ryadh and the fountain in Casa when I play with brightness set to lowest (which cannot be set to a higher value through the game itself if you play in windowed mode with Compiz running).

Interesting. The solution I use is the "NVIDIA X Server Settings". However, I also use gamma around 2.0 when I play urt.

dont get me wrong, i normally play at gamma 1
but there are some maps (coconutbeta, dicks...) which have such a shitty lighting you can see barely anything, so i turn up the gamma value

You have binded gamma change? Or you just write it?

since those maps arent played that often, i dont have a bind
btw r_gamma doesnt work in windowed mode, so bind wouldnt be possible with normal client. thanks to mitsubishi theres an alternative client that allows the sysexec command

but i got some binds for totem media player
