Well it could also be due to random fluctuations of energy flow through the matter that makes information conduits..... ;)

Ok since its not server sided, i finally tried to tweak my config according to this site for weak computers: http://forums.urbanterror.net/topic/181 ... tter-hits/

As far as i could see its better/fine now. I lowered the FPS to 40 and they are relative stable and even the ping is more stable now. Looks a bit strange :) but as long the killing is fine i am satisfied :D.

Lol, at year 2001 Microsoft lost Copyright to Windows XP?

Edit: My latency towards the server while just pinging from terminal:

marshall:
the next time you have good/bad hitz... keep an eye on the following things:

- how there many people are on?
- at what time you play?

I made a few tests as the server has been underperforming for me even more since the slots were raised from 32 to 48. I changed my com_hunkmegs to 1024 but in the end that did not really solve the problem. I singled out most of the sources and it must be the server having problems. I get frequent fps drops and the server is laggy as hell during primetime (7pm - 11pm) - I do not have those problems on other servers at all.

Is the server maybe swapping or the network card having problems? Iirc I was told on IRC that you use some kind of virtualization.

Supporting data:

Tracing route to 193.34.68.150 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms local router [x.x.x.x]
2 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 87.186.224.1
3 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 87.186.254.54
4 16 ms 15 ms 15 ms 217.239.40.189
5 17 ms 16 ms 16 ms ffm1.dtag.link11.de [80.95.144.130]
6 17 ms 16 ms 16 ms W-traffic.optimate-server.de [80.95.152.142]
7 15 ms 15 ms 15 ms 193.34.68.150

(I tabbed to windows to run this during the game and basically got the same results so the connection to the server was fine)

Connection: DSL 1,4 Megabyte/s down, 130 Kilobytes/s up

System: Intel Quad Core 3,2 ghz, 4gb ram, windows vista 64bit, nvidia GTX 260 (URT restricted to use one core only), 1920x1200 (native tft resolution, com_maxfps 125, rate 25000, maxpackets 42, snaps 20)

I used to have the same settings in q3 ra3, osp, and cpma aside from maxpackets 100 and snaps 40. (edit: not possible to check both values in urt)

Again, IMO network and fps problems are unrelated. I've never experienced red bars on wurst (except on custom maps because of downloads), only lots of framerate drops. Always nice looking lagometer and nice ping, and I don't play from Germany.
Since you receive every packet at a normal rate, it's unlikely that the server is the cause of bad FPS, don't you think ? I guess the Q3 engine wasn't optimised to run server with that much people online, that's why you don't experience these lages on other server (assuming they don't have 50 slots...)
On the screenshots : do you usually have this kind of upper part of the lagometer or is it sometimes different ?

Better consider commands related to fps, because some comments on maxpackets are total crap :)
