Network probs

Argh, I hate it. I played two rounds thursday evening, network monitor was blue, but as soon as there was some action and some enemies, I got the yellow spikes. I hate it, no way to win a duel! Went down 30 points in two games! :P

And now I'm at my parent's house and guess what - same problem. Since I don't always get this I think it's not my (hardware/software) problem but the provider's. Anyone else has this?

Lately Doutche Telekom (T-com) has some problems with connections... I have friend who lost his whole army in MMORPG because of lag....
everyday connection is slower and slower :( .
It may be because server (wurst server) has problems with them, or we have, or all...
It's very sad that we have no other choise for provider.

what about your and others pings? Did your ping change? if not i wouldn't say it's your providers fault.
any high pings present? even if it's not main cause, makes difference...

:? ...but i'm not an expert in networking :)


btw. i'm having today ugly CI's every few minutes and have to reconnect. unable to play. however
my ping is as usual 40-60. wtf?

Lately i have wonderful pings with Versatel and the D-Lan here. Onetime it was even at 25, woohooo fragtime ;). Sorry to hear about you having lag :cry: that suxx.

My ping is also fine, below 50 on Wurst, but that doesn't say much of the connection quality. ;)
Packetjump is what we need to know, and these are the yellow spikes in the network monitor. Since it occurs so regularly I'm not sure it's my provider but my WLAN, will have to check it out...

urt's concept was not designed for more than 16 players...

not the gameplay, and especially not the fk netcode......... dont think its the wlan

That being said, Sauerbraten has an incredible netcode. Very effective, perfect lag compensation and stuff, they should port that to UrT... :)

havent played sauerbraten, but AFAIK ns:co had an incredible netcode, too... ping 400 was alright with it.
sadly there arent ANY servers left.
same problem as with reactionquake3... (ok, rq3s netcode was just average ^^=))

maybe we should give navy seals or rq3 a shot^^ :lol:
