pings to high

[dmmh]

just now I kicked a player with ping 999 first (CI), I wanted to spec him because I suspected him of wh, but when map changed he got Ci, then I kicked another player with ping 950, this one:

he rejoined, then I asked him nicely to join another server, and told him why.
He didn't repond, so a few more warnings were issued, which resulted in a 2 minuted temp ban.

Havoc started crying a river over how he got banned (banned...2 hour tempban...seriously?), that it wasn't the guy's fault he has a bad connection, that he probaly couldn't understand english and that wurst said "players are our guests and should be treated as such", and that I overadmined (yes, havoc, you did).

1. it is not our problem someone doesn't speak the language of the server he joins.
Should we just let everyone tk because they don't speak english? Seriously, get real.

2. ping 950 is unplayable. Even though this may be worst for the player himself, it also has effect on the gameplay for the others. I understand wursti's view on being friendly and treating players as guests and I naturally agree, but this doesn't work for ping 800+, and I am pretty sure he doesn't want a server with people with 800+ ping. It makes people lag and unhittable. Secondly, it results in an unbalanced game, because the player is actually useless to the team. And that's a fact. But ofcourse havoc has this all figured out and will come up with some great excuses to have a fucked up game with lagging players who teamkill because they lag so much behind?

3. asking someone after kicking for ping 950 to find another server, is not fuckin over-admining, even more not after 4 warnings.

4. a 2 hour tempban because of 4 warnings, is not banning someone!

5. maybe you should spectate first, like I did, before you start acting like a moron. The guy couldn't even walk and had CI written all over his screen. He was just looking around in spawn ffs

Havoc: last time I checked you are still a mod, and I am still an admin.
If you don't agree with me, that's fine, start a discussion in the forums, like I kindly asked you to.
Next time, if you behave like this, I will mute and/ or kick/ ban you. Don't question authority on the server for all to see, cry a river in the forums instead!
I know what I am doing, even after 1.5 years of absence, trust me.

oh, next time something similar happens, I will react exactly the same way, unless wursti says in this topic it's fine to have players with ping 950. Which he won't.

i didnt say you are over-admining, you said it and left. i just said it happens.

the ban was 1 hour one, not 2 min.

what im saying is, theres no rule to kick users for high ping. wanna be an admin - be the first to comply to those rules. dont pull this authority crap on me, please.

also its not about this one user (it was obvious his connection sucked, but if you check the topic in gameserver support about lags, you will see the problem with the pings last few days is kinda beyond kicks and bans of lagged people on dswp), but the many more got kicked for their ping. including the others nemo kicked before and after you were on the server. you just took it personally for some reason, dont know why. you got it all wrong.

autoban, I couldt care less about how long he was banned, the tempban was caused by warnings.
Yes you said the server was overadminned. Basically this ofourse referred to me and nemo, so you questioned authority publically.
I couldnt give a rats as if you dont like it told you like it is, but thats how it is.

and yes, it was about this user, you were the one flaming us about only this person.
after al, he had ping 900+, and I left after your behaviour, so the discussion between you and me and nemo sure as heel wasnt about anything that happened after I left.

newsflash: rules don't always have to be written in cold stone. Everybody knows ping 900+ is bad.
