I once did the same, except with an A4 paper instead of a cat.

hm when i search for reasons...
very likely the cat wasnt allowed to sit on the speaker.
i mean: cats are to air baloons and speaker membranes what kentucky is to chickens.
they are kinda masters of ignorance while doing forbidden things.
look how its cleaning its fur, being hell uncomfortable but doing "veryvery business as usual"
